The Advance ProjectTM is a free evidence-based training package and suite of resources specifically designed to support GPs, nurses and practice managers to work as a team to initiate conversations about advance care planning and to assess patients’ and their carers’ palliative care needs.

The aim of the Advance ProjectTM practical workshop is to increase your skills and confidence in:
  • initiating conversations with older and/or chronically ill patients about advance care planning.
  • identifying and assessing the needs of patients, and their carer’s, who are palliative / end of life.
The members of the Gold Coast Hospital Service Specialist Palliative Care team will be conducting this face-to-face workshop. This will provide an opportunity for questions and answers to relevant topics related to individual patient care. 
 
In order to get the most out of the workshop, we encourage all participants to complete the Advance ProjectTM online learning modules. To access the online learning, please register for the Advance ProjectTM at www.theadvanceproject.com.au completing the online modules prior to the workshop, will greatly enhance your learning experience for the evening.

The online learning modules for GPs have been accredited by the RACGP for 4 CPD points.  This face to face workshop has been allocated 4 Category 2 points Activity: 157438 in the RACGP QI&CPD Program for the 2017–2019 triennium.

CANCELLATIONS: Online registrations will be confirmed immediately in our booking system. This is our preferred method of RSVP. To cancel your RSVP please use the email link or call the GCPHN events team (PH. 07 5635 2455). In recent months a number of registrants to our events have failed to attend and have not provided cancellation advice. This often results in others, often on wait lists, being unable to attend. In addition, GCPHN resources are wasted as costs for catering and support staff are still incurred. Each event therefore incurs a cost per person ranging from $65 - $120.  GCPHN wishes to continue to provide training and education at no cost to primary care providers, however for these reasons we may have to consider implementing fees to offset our costs in the future. Please ensure you provide at least 2 days’ notice if you need to cancel your registration

Your contact details may be used to forward information and notifications from GCPHN.
