The Course in Immunisation Practice in Primary Healthcare is designed to upskill students (clinicians) to perform a range of comprehensive immunisation services, and remain up to date with current vaccination programs, changes, and requirements to their scope of practice. The course includes online learning completed via BenchmarqueIQ, half-day face to face workshop, in-class activities and a mandatory third party observed workplace activity.
The fee to attend and complete this course is $375.00 per student.
The online component consists of
two learning modules and assessment. Content includes areas such as, systems and processes to deliver immunisation services, coordinate an Immunisation Catch-Up schedule, and determine and communicate immunisation needs for women in pregnancy, influenza vaccination, adult and older persons and school immunisation programs.
The face-to-face workshop involves practical workshop activities involving cold chain management and administration of vaccines in a simulated environment. Practice and assessment are performed on a mannequin, with the practical assessment conducted during the skills activity session.
