The Queensland Health Immunisation Program, in collaboration with the Cunningham Centre, is excited to announce the launch of a suite of four comprehensive online courses for immunisation service providers in Queensland.
The following four immunisation courses are now available on the Clinical Skills Development Service website
These high-quality online courses are free and easy to access, self-paced, interactive and have been developed with the latest instructional design expertise in mind. They complement existing face-to-face training and education sessions already provided by public health units across Queensland.
Course participants choose one of the three pathways – clinical, administrative or community-based – to guide them through each course. This makes the courses suitable for clinicians and non-clinical staff involved in supporting roles such as practice managers or receptionists, as well as community-based health professionals such as pharmacists, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers or environmental health officers at councils.
The courses also cater for different skill levels ensuring that course participants with little or no knowledge of immunisation as well as those with more experience can benefit from it. Upon completion of each course a Certificate of Completion and CPD hours are awarded.
The new immunisation courses are an important action from the Queensland Health Immunisation Strategy 2017–2022
which aims to protect the Queensland community from vaccine-preventable diseases, and all immunisation service providers play a critical role in it.
