The Gold Coast PHN Practice Agreements will be distributed in the next couple of days via email to the practice contact person.
GCPHN has spent the last twelve months reviewing and updating the Practice Agreement, Schedules and Appendices. The Practice Agreement, Schedules and Appendices outline the requirements to accessing and use of data extraction tools supported by GCPHN as well as the various levels of practice support available to general practice.
The basis for this review was to assist both GCPHN and general practice to meet requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act
) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs
) in the Privacy Act relating to collecting, sharing and ownership of data. The review was completed under consultation from both legal and general practice representatives.
The introduction of the Practice Incentive Program Quality Improvement (PIP QI) Incentive has also informed a review of the levels of support provided by GCPHN, previously referred to as the Tiered Approach to Practice Support. With the introduction of the PIP QI Incentive the majority of Gold Coast general practices will now be completing formal Continuous Quality Improvement activities. The model of support has been changed to reflect this and is now framed as three levels of Community of Practice Clusters. This change better reflects general practices role in implementing and leading CQI activities. You have the option of choosing to participate in Community of Practice Cluster 1 or
2 with the participation criteria and description of services outlined in Schedule 2 Services – Support.
Community of Practice Cluster 3 relates to specific trial projects undertaken by GCPHN and participation in this cluster is a joint agreement between GCPHN and participating general practices.
