As we head into the final months of the year, our activities and work show no signs of slowing down. During November, we have lots of events and opportunities for health professionals and members of our community, including My Health Record briefings for the disability, allied health and aged care sectors.
Following the end of the opt-out period (November 15), approximately 18 million Australians will have a My Health Record. If you or your organisation would like assistance to register for participation in the My Health Record, please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org
. Our provider engagement team are available to offer additional information and assistance with the registration process.
We are also running cultural safety training for GPs, general practice staff and allied health professionals working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, which will be our last one for 2018. I encourage you to look at all our upcoming professional events
and take advantage of these before the year comes to a close.
We have made a number of changes to our HealthyGC website, with new webpages for Children and Young People
and Nursing in General Practice
now available for health professionals, patients and the community to access. The team at Gold Coast Primary Health Network (GCPHN) are continually working on developing and improving the website for our, so if you have any feedback about HealthyGC, you can let us know here
Finally, November plays host to a number of important causes including Lung Cancer Awareness Month
, World COPD Day
(21 November), Movember
and White Ribbon Day
(23 November). Whilst it may seem overwhelming with the number of awareness days and months that are held, it is a great opportunity to find out new information about these important causes and how you can look after you and the people you love.
