Gold Coast Health Service provides community mental health care through the Acute Care Team (ACT) and the Continuing Care Team (CCT).
The Acute Care Team is an assertive community focussed multi-disciplinary mobile service and is the initial entry point for all referrals – it is the interface with the community. It incorporates functions of mental health intakes, triages, assessments and psychiatric reviews through a collaborative approach which includes consumers, their families and relevant community based service providers.
There are four teams of consultants and registrars who provide this care through the Homeless Health Outreach Team (HHOT) and Mobile Intensive Treatment Team (MITT) along with the Emergency Department of the Gold Coast University Hospital.
