Robina Doctors - Robina Family Medical Centre

Robina Family Medical is a Bulk Billing Doctors Clinic that was established in 2012. The Clinic is conveniently located across the road from the Robina Train Station and Robina Hospital, and a short drive from Robina Town Centre.

The Practice Slogan “Caring for Our Community” reflects the commitment made to our patients. The practice is very well equipped for General Practice and Emergency Care and is accredited with AGPAL.

Our Doctors are very experienced with each of them having over 25 years of experience in General Practice.

Dr Vinodha Naidoo completed her Medical training in South Africa and moved to New Zealand before moving to Australia. She holds Fellowships from the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Naidoo completed advanced training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in New Zealand.

Dr Prakash Appanna completed his Medical training in South Africa and moved to New Zealand before moving to Australia. He holds Fellowships from the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Appanna completed advanced training in Sports Medicine in New Zealand and advanced Training in Skin Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment in Australia. He also works at the Gold Coast Melanoma Clinic in Coolangatta providing a Secondary Care Skin Cancer Services to patients referred by their GP for more complex procedures.

Dr Smit completed his training in South Africa and moved to Australia working in Adelaide and Brisbane prior to setting on the Gold Coast. He was trained in Cosmetic Injectable procedures in South Africa and continued his training in Adelaide. Dr Smit holds a Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Arul Neel - completed his medical training in 2000. He undertook General Paediatric training in the UK before joining the GP vocational training scheme. He successfully completed the vocational training and obtained Membership at the Royal College of General Practitioners and Membership with Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. In 2005 he obtained the Cardiff Diploma in Practical Dermatology. He relocated from the UK to the Gold Coast in March 2018. Dr Neel is married to Dr Vidya Neel and they have a son and daughter

Dr Zara Mason- "Dr Mason has been a General Practitioner for 11 years having undertaken her medical training in New Zealand. She has experience in Emergency Medicine, Women's and Children's health and Palliative care. She has 3 children and enjoys all that the Gold Coast natural environment has to offer"

Allied Health providers

Alice Lenon- Dietitian-  
Alice Lenon’s strength is in helping and motivating people to make better and informed lifestyle choices, which was inspired by her previous work in health retreats. She became a dietitian as it combines her love of people, food and health, and has a special interest in IBS, mindful eating, malnutrition and weight loss.
Alice believes in creating patient centred and individualised advice, allowing dietary change to be both sustainable and achievable. She places a high importance on using the most current nutrition based research, and would like to explore the area of nutrigenomics in the future.

Dipti McGowan- Psychologist  
Dipti McGowan is a registered psychologist and associate member of the Australian Psychological Society. She delivers compassionate, evidence-based therapies to help her clients acquire insight and understanding of their life experiences. Dipti is committed to working with people of all ages from diverse backgrounds to use new insights to improve their sense of wellbeing and quality of life.
Dipti provides bulk billed Psychology services on Mondays and Wednesdays for patients with a Mental Health Care Plan. She also sees private patients

Clinton Laurence- Clinical Psychologist  
Clinton is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience in private practice specialising in the techniques of cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, hypnosis and biofeedback to help people enhance their wellbeing especially in the areas of depression, anxiety, sleep, adjustment to injury and chronic health illnesses such as chronic pain. For over 6 years Clinton also worked as a full-time lecturer at Griffith University teaching exercise and sport psychology, and the psychology of rehabilitation. He worked for over 4 years as a consultant sport psychologist to the Australian Institute of Sport Canoe Unit. Clinton provides bulk billed Psychology services on Tuesdays and Fridays for patients with a Mental Health Care Plan. He also sees private patients.

Charlotte Henricks- Physiotherapist Charlotte graduated in 2007 in London with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. Before moving to Australia Charlotte spent much of her career working throughout London including 2 years working in a large Emergency Department in London. Charlotte has special interests in falls prevention, the management of chronic conditions and sports injuries. As well as hands on treatment Charlotte can also provide Dry needling and Western Acupuncture.

Karen Thomas- Diabetes Educator

Lillian Fox-Audiologist  
Robina Family Allied Health is teamed with National Hearing Care, providing free hearing health checks to patients over 26 years. National Hearing Care is the leading audiological service provider in Australia. Lillian Fox (Audiologist) operates the audiology clinic at Robina Family Allied Health.
Lillian graduated from University of Queensland 2015 with Masters of Audiology Studies, with undergraduate study of Bachelor of Nursing at Griffith University. As an audiologist she has obtained a diverse skill set including adult hearing assessments; rehabilitation; fitting of hearing aids; sound therapy for tinnitus; counselling and treatment. She is always striving to deliver the best outcomes for every client. We look forward to helping you discover life at full volume.

Philippa Jones- Podiatrist

The Practice Manager is Ms Carolyn Kerrison. Carolyn is responsible for all aspects of managing the team and is available to assist with any inquiries.

Our Practice Nurses 
Chrissie Butler-Chrissie joined the team in 2015 and is a highly experienced Nurse with years of knowledge in General Practice and Aged Care. and Donna McDonnell-Donna joined the team in 2017 and is a highly experienced Nurse having worked in both New Zealand and Australia. 

Our Receptionists are Bri Wilson, Sharma Slavich, Chereen Ashworth and Kirsty Hunkin

Home visits are available exclusively for Enrolled patients whose condition prevents them from attending the surgery. A call out fee will be charged accordingly.
